Senior Finance Business Partner (Commercial)

Fixed-Term contract for 9 months

Full time 35 hours per week

Location:
Liverpool / Hybrid


Salary:
£61,635 - £68,124 per annum

In this role you will be reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will partner with Executive Directors and leadership team to support the Group with achieving its strategic and financial objectives.


Ideally in this role you will be providing commercial insight and technical financial skills, this is a role that takes ownership of the financial management of commercial businesses and activities across the Group.

Your insight will allow for better quality commercial decision making throughout the organisation.

You would have a proven leadership skills, with evidence of coaching and mentoring a team in a challenging, fast paced environment, also you should have fully CCAB/CIMA qualified or equivalent.

Role Profile


Reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will partner with Executive Directors and leadership team to support the Group with achieving its strategic and financial objectives.


Providing commercial insight and technical financial skills, this is a role that takes ownership of the financial management of commercial businesses and activities across the Group.

Your insight will allow for better quality commercial decision making throughout the organisation.


Leading a team of finance professionals to deliver growth initiatives, process improvement, margin enhancement and commercial opportunities and ensure the service is efficient, value for money and continually developed.


Accountabilities or "What You Have to Do"

  • Provide strategic, commercial and financial insight, advice and support to Executive Directors, senior managers and governance bodies on all aspects of financial management for complex and high risk business areas and activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships to ensure a cohesive approach to external bidding processes.
  • Lead and develop (including the matrix management) of a team of finance professionals to provide a high quality service by regularly reviewing work outputs, setting improvement targets and appraising individual performance.
  • Provide advice, coach, guide and influence Executive Directors and senior managers, ensuring that business decisions are underpinned by sound and appropriate commercial recommendations, financial planning, analysis and expertise.
  • Play an active role in the management of joint ventures across the Group, deputising for the FD / CFO with Board meetings as required.
  • Undertake financial modelling, scenario planning, business case preparation and option appraisal to support effective decision making and improved business performance.
  • Effectively manage and develop the relationships with Executive Directors, senior managers and other senior stakeholders through collaborating, influencing, challenging and negotiating, to support the Group in achieving its objectives.
  • Develop and own financial business planning and analysis for the entire business area(s). Own, prepare and deliver business performance insight and reporting including regular forecasting, commentary and identification of performance variances, ensuring that it is easily understood and fit for use by the business.
  • Collaborate with both finance and operational colleagues to identify, investigate and implement remedial action to address issues impacting on financial and business performance.
  • Lead initiatives to improve and develop financial literacy awareness and understanding across the business.
