Our Cooltherm business are looking for a
Accounts Assistant to cover maternity leave on a fixed-term contract of 7 months from December 23- June 24.


37 hrs per week. Mon-Thurs 8:30 - 17:00 & Fri 08:30 - 16:30

Hybrid work pattern; during the initial 2 week induction it will be fully office-based and thereafter - 2 days per week in the office in Caerphilly (dropping to one day a week pending satisfactory performance)


Responsibilities for Accounts Assistant (list not exhaustive)

  • Assist with purchase ledger and all aspects of invoice/PO processing, payments, statement reconciliation and query resolution
  • Assist with credit control and all aspects of debt chasing, credit management, payment allocation, account reconciliation and query resolution.
  • Assist with day to day Sage housekeeping and update of supplier/customer records & account activity
  • Proactively resolve all internal and external queries in a timely & professional manner
  • Liaise with internal & external customers & build strong relationships
  • Support finance team, the wider business or auditors with any other ad hoc requests and departmental cover

Qualifications for Account Assistant

  • Thrives in a busy environment and handles stressful situations calmly, professionally and can negotiate with persistence where required.
  • Methodical, organised, and analytical with good time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Great communication and problem solving skills
  • Selfmotivated team player, who can work independently or with others
  • Experience within the construction industry & working knowledge of CIS & domestic reverse charge VAT (DRC) preferred but not essential
  • Experience of using Sage 50 Cloud Accounts preferred but not essential
  • AAT partqualified preferred but not essential
  • Intermediate excel skills required
  • At least 1 years relevant experience working in an accounts team
