We have a great opportunity for a Finance Manager to join this amazing charity based in Newcastle. You will report to the Finance Director and work in a small team of 5.


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:


You will provide support to the Finance Director and take responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly VAT returns in accordance with agreed timescales.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, investigating and correcting errors and discrepancies
  • Prepare analysis of income and expenditure on a monthly basis, investigating and correcting errors and discrepancies
  • Prepare working papers file for all statutory external audits
  • Manage the audit of grant funding claims
  • Line manage 2 Finance Staff on a daily basis
  • Complete annual appraisals for the finance staff.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT return and associated reconciliations
  • Oversee and review monthly payroll
  • Document financial systems and monitor compliance, including acting as system administrator for the accounting software system
  • Administer all medium and longterm car park permits for both corporate clients and individuals
  • Complete and submit all National Statistics forms
  • Prepare claims for gift aid for submission to HM Revenue and Customs
  • Any other duties as defined by the Finance Director

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

As an individual you will be a well organised and motivated individual, able to lead and develop a team, as well as delivering high quality information and accounts to tight deadlines.

You will have excellent communication skills_, _be able to produce accurate management accounts to tight deadlines and have a sound understanding of budgetary management and control
