Quality Engineerrequired to join a well-established automotive manufacturer, based in Sheffield on a permanent basis offering a competitive salary.

Our client is an automotive supercar and hyper-car brand, with a global reputation for producing high performance vehicles.

Working with some of the most iconic designs using modern engineering this company is one of a kind and their attention to detailis second to none.


The
Quality Engineerwill be responsible to support the launch of new vehicles ensuring core quality tools are applied to protect our customer and drive improvements in operational efficiency.

**The Quality Engineer duties: Support the Quality Manager in developing and executing a robust quality roadmap.

Provide support for product assurance from initial product qualification to first phase production to ensure management system requirements and operational standards are satisfied throughout.

Interact with technical and operational functions to establish test requirements and new product qualification.
Review test plan inputs and outputs to ensure conformance with requirements.
Non-conformance resolution
Support establishment of key process characteristics and process performance indicators
Review APQP and PPAP submissions from external suppliers to confirm conformity with requirements.
Support preparation of APQP and PPAP submissions to customers in first phase production
Review production readiness for product and process conformance requirements
Assist with first off sample approvals.
Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for Continuous Improvement such as Lean Six Sigma, Poka Yoke, Measurement Systems Analysis and Statistical Process Control
Support development of the DFMEA/PFMEA helping to deliver customer compliance, zero defects and a safe launch.
Provide training on Quality Management System, Problem Resolution techniques issues.
Support MSA activities during Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing to ensure validity of measurement results.
Continually review current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that influence product quality.
Become familiar with all aspects of cell manufacturing (end to end)
Provide support to technical and operational functions on process performance (CPK/PPK) in support of correction and improvement activities.
First point of contact for quality issues highlighted internally or externally.
Manage supplier or customer returns.
Capital equipment non-conformity resolution & buy off process.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience of the Quality Engineer: Composite Manufacturing preferred

  • Exposure to working in startup projects in a quality role.
Experience in the design and implementation or APQP systems
Strong understanding of the Quality Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA & SPC)
