The buyer would ideally have knowledge of procurement or experience within a similar role within the plumbing and heating sector.

The buyer will be ensuring a close understanding and up to date knowledge of materials, products and suppliers.

The buyer will be responsible for communicating between site supervisors and suppliers to ensure delivery of goods in a timely manner and within budget on each project.

The buyer will appraise & select suppliers from the approved list, issue enquiries and orders and liaise closely with our surveying team.

Position overview

Assist in the day to day operations.
Acquire quotes and negotiate prices for goods and services and support estimators with functions including procuring materials, supplier negotiation and processing orders.
Involvement in business development identifying potential new supplier.
Ensure savings, rebates and compliance are achieved in line with project terms.
Negotiating prices and terms with suppliers.
Liaising with relevant project managers for stock levels and supplies.
Obtaining quotations from existing approved suppliers.
On arrival, check deliveries with on site managers to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and that goods meet specifications.
Communicate regularly with management keeping them abreast with products, prices, deliveries.

Position Requirements

IT skills
MS Office literate.
Ability to source products best suited for requirements and negotiating costs with suppliers.
Ability to work both alone and as part of a team.

Salary:
£30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
