Our wide range of swing and sliding gate automation, road traffic barriers, rising bollards, intercoms and physical security accessories from leading manufacturers are supplied business to business to installers for domestic, commercial and industrial projects throughout the UK.
Technical Team Responsibilities
Rolling Center Technical team support and assist our customers with all types of technical queries by providing technical advice, predominantly over the phone but occasionally onsite.
Using their extensive, in-depth knowledge of the whole product range, they deliver pre purchase and post sales advice and installation support through troubleshooting and offering support and expertise to help with wiring, commissioning etc.
Ongoing training for staff and customers is a key part of the technical team's responsibilities as well as creating technical drawings, training courses, quick guides and other supporting documents.
In order to support the sales team with more complex or large system requirements, the technical team create quotations for cantilever gate installations, access control systems, intercom systems, automation installations and aluminium gate installations using their knowledge of the different product manufacturers and how their products can work together.
As well as carrying out testing or repairs on suspected faulty equipment, the technical team manage the returns process and liaise directly with suppliers regarding warranty claims to ensure a speedy resolution for our customers.
Career prospects
Completion of the Business Administrator Technical Apprenticeship, during which you would have developed sound knowledge of products within the gate industry, would lead to opportunities to work in a technical support engineer role either onsite or in a support role.
Within Rolling Center, this would mean taking on the responsibilities similar to the rest of the technical team by providing technical support directly to our customers.
What will your role as a Technical Apprentice initially look like?
Your role would be to provide admin support to the Rolling Center Technical Team.
It is an administrative based apprenticeship where in tandem with your apprenticeship, you would receive ongoing hands-on training across our wide range of products and develop in-depth product knowledge.
You would also receive trainingResponsibilities
Providing administrative support to the technical team including the following:
Assisting the technical team to provide quotes and process orders for customers using Sage
Working with the technical team to process faulty & non faulty returns using the ticketing system:
Liaising with suppliers and process the returns to meet manufacturer terms and condition requirements
Checking all new returns to ensure the information matches the order number provided
Issue customers with returns numbers and instructions on how to return it to us.
Liaise with suppliers and complete forms to co-ordinate the return of faulty products to them.
Keeping the ticketing system up to date with timescales for returns
Provide excellent customer service by speaking to customers to provide updates on their return
Keeping the ticketing system up to date
Pulling reports off the ticketing system
General office admin duties such as:
Matching sales orders for invoicing
General filing
Role Requirements
Minimum Grade C equivalent in Maths and English
Good communicator and exceptional telephone manner
Confidence and willingness to deal with customers and speak on the phone
Professional, friendly, diligent manner
Self-motivated and well organised with a strong attention to detail
The ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
Excellent administrative and numeracy capabilities
