Cambridge Muslim College was established in 2009 to develop and disseminate Muslim thought leadership through world-class education, training, and research based on dialogue between the Islamic tradition and the circumstances of the modern world.

As a theological college, CMC's research is guided by the living scholarly tradition of Islam. The aim is to further a better understanding of the Islamic intellectual and practical sciences on their own terms and to bring them to bear upon contemporary questions for the common good. Towards this, the College welcomes any scholarly enquiry into Islam and Muslim societies as well as engagements with the challenges of the modern condition. We especially support research into the various branches of theology, the philosophy and applied ethics of science and technology, education and knowledge traditions, social philosophy and institutions, and the natural and built environment.
