Back Office at RWE Supply & Trading are responsible for processing deals after they have been concluded by the commodity trading desks.

This includes sending out deal confirmations, managing margin and collateral payments, controlling balancing group accounts as well as sending out invoices and settling deals.

While performing these tasks, we are responsible for providing a comprehensive and quality checked control within the trade lifecycle process across Front Office, Back Office, Risk, Finance, Accounting and Legal - close cooperation with these ares are key.

We have a diverse commodity portfolio including power, gas emission certificates, renewables, LNG, freight, weather and biomass. Without Back Office as the operational backbone of the trading business, nothing would work

Do you have a keen interest in shipping? Have you worked closely with traders and operators of vessels either within a trading, broking or chartering context and gained sufficient Freight trading knowledge in your job or through qualifications? Then join the RWE Back Office Swindon team for this exciting opportunity.

Your future plans

Work accurately with meticulous attention to detail and limited operational risk to the business
Responsible for checking the Freight trades captured in Endur and IMOS against the recap for Time Charter, Voyage Charter and Bunker trades
Using Jira workflow to manage the contract process from trade Recap to Working Copy
Settlement of Freight contracts according to contractual timeframes
Mentoring less experienced colleagues
Deal with most of the new, unique issues or challenges and can structure and document these so that other team members can take over
Good performer with higher responsibilities and knowledge of Back Office processes

Your powerful skills

Excellent communication skills as there is daily contact with the Traders, Operators, Finance as well as Back Office teams in Singapore and Swindon
You build effective relationships but also work independently
Wellorganised and capable of working to tight timescales as on a daily basis you will need to be able to reprioritise your daily tasks to meet operational deadlines.
Actively participate in daily team meetings/discussions
Committed to team working with good interpersonal skills
Commercially aware and flexible in a changing work environment
Intermediate Microsoft knowledge (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) essential.

Advantageous, but not a must

Basic knowledge of IT software (ENDUR and SAP)
Relevant work experience in the physical trade support business or in a commercial environment
A good understanding of Freight Trading and the deal lifecycle
Relevant work experience in the freight/shipping business
