About the Role

The set-up of awards on the University's finance system, and funder claims, statements, and invoicing for all of the University's research are managed by the Research Accounts team.

Reporting to one of the Research Finance Managers, this role is responsible for its own portfolio of academic departments and will act as the prime point of contact.

The role will provide support in the post award administration of projects, looking after the claims, financial statements, and invoicing for several hundred externally-funded research projects.

This role works closely with staff in academic departments, funder organisations and the University's Research Services team to ensure that all research accounting matters are dealt with in a professional and controlled way, and provide follow-on support to departmental staff as necessary.

You will be based in Hythe Bridge Street but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

About You
You will have experience of working in a complex financial administration function with customer contact.

Alongside this experience, you will also have good accounting experience including proven skills in complex reconciliation, or the demonstrable ability to develop such skills.

Research Accounts is a very busy, customer-focused, and deadline driven team, so you will need to demonstrate high levels of personal effectiveness, an ability to communicate clearly, and a flexible, can-do attitude.
