Description
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the social, emotional and academic progress of a child with autism
- Engaging the child in meaningful and engaging activities that will help them work towards their targets
- Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to ensure the child's needs are met
- Keeping accurate records of the child's progress and sharing this information with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff
- Attend and participate in meetings and training as required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs in a primary school setting
- Knowledge of autism and how to support children with autism in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with record keeping and reporting
- Ability to work well in a team
