An exciting opportunity has arisen within our garden maintenance and care team based in Nottingham for an experienced gardener, with additional team leader responsibilities.

The Role

As well as providing ongoing maintenance to our regular clients there is opportunity to flex creatively with input into client's garden development, planting plans or to assist other teams with design builds by RHS Gold and Silver medallist designers.

Working pattern is set, Monday to Friday, with an 8AM start. End time dependant on season (4pm Winter/5pm Summer) with opportunity for optional paid overtime. Travel between jobs is paid and included in a working day. Happy to discuss part-time or full-time work.

An extended understanding of horticultural techniques and principals is necessary, and previous experience in horticulture, gardening or similar is essential.

Skilled Gardener Responsibilities

Confident plant identification skills and care knowledge
Working with a mixture of hand tools, petrol small engines and pedestrian mowers
Garden maintenance tasks include pruning, weeding, mowing, hedgecutting and reduction, planting, pruning and many other seasonal garden duties
Pushing gardens forward with fresh ideas
Ensuring that all equipment and machinery is kept in good working order and faults are highlighted to the managers promtly

Essential Characteristics

Previous experience in horticulture or relevant qualifications
Proficiency with handheld garden machinery and small engines
Knowledge of appropriate horticultural techniques
Positive and sociable nature
Capable of working in all weathers
Ability to work in a safe and professional manner

Desirable Qualifications (but not essential)

Full UK driving license
RHS Level 2 or similar
PA1/PA6 spraying license
