Our team in Scunthorpe are recruiting for an empathetic and effective Recovery Worker, to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse service user group.

You will develop and deliver a range of recovery programmes and activities across the service and support the programme participants through improving access to appropriate services.

As part of your role, you will research, design, develop and deliver a range of recovery based programmes and activities including:
RADAR, WISC and Darlington wide recovery support, working in partnership with colleagues, recovery champions and volunteers.

An important aspect of this role will be working collectively towards the achievement of recovery goals for each individual service user, promoting all recovery programmes and activities to services users, internal colleagues and external partners and assessing service users suitability for recovery programmes and activities.


You will be a compassionate and motivated individual, with the ability to connect quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity.

You should hold OCN/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or be willing to achieve this within 12 months of joining us.

We're looking for substantial experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, along with a successful track record of working with substance misuse service users.

You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively.

It is important that you have sound knowledge of current health and social care issues, with particular understanding of:

  • Group working
  • Assessment, care planning and key working
  • Issues affecting substance misusers
  • Rehabilitation
  • Solution focused Brief Therapy and/or motivational interviewing

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or willing to achieve this
within 12 months

  • Demonstrable experience of working in the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting
  • Successful track record of working with substance misuse service users
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing highrisk situations for service users
  • Ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player
  • Resilient; ability to prioritise and work under pressure
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • IT skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and
digital media

  • Organised and excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of:

  • Able to visit other locations from time to time in order to deliver the services required
