We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Transport Planner to join our team in Banbury on a full time permanent basis.


Salary:
£26,250 per annum.


Working hours:
Monday-Friday (8am-5pm).


The purpose of a Trainee Transport Planner to effectively assemble loads / deliveries and resource the correct transport requirements as well as providing administrative support.


Key Duties of a Trainee Transport Planner:

  • Planning loads nationwide from Great Bear Banbury.
  • Assembling 40 + multi drop / consolidated loads in every 24 hour period.
  • Planning approximately 200 + collections to clients agreed KPI.
  • Liaising daily with personnel across different levels (Shift Managers, Transport Coordinators, Customer Service & Client Support Colleagues).
  • Dealing with day to day operational issues.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with subcontractors.
  • Dealing with client requests.
  • Booking in collections for customers and completion of relevant paperwork.
  • Ensure all paperwork is returned for all customer deliveries despatched from site, and chase outstanding POD's.
  • Investigate any collection queries.
  • Other duties as reasonably required

Qualifications

  • Ideally at least 1 year experience working in a logistics company, preferably in a transport or planning environment.
  • PC literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Attention to detail / accuracy.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Good communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines.
