We are looking for a
Head of Social Media to join us working across two of Reachs national brands - Mirror and Express Online.

This is a fantastic opportunity to drive traffic and be the go to person for exciting social content for our brands.

More people in the UK and Ireland choose a Reach brand for their news, entertainment and sport than any other commercial publisher, with a combined print and digital reach of 48m a month.

We own over 130 trusted national and local media brands, including the Mirror, Express, Star and OK magazine, and reach a whopping 80% of the UK online population.

Were also home to 21 of the top 25 regional titles in the UK, including the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo and MyLondon.

We are looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

What will the role involve?

You will manage our social media team for both brands, working to drive page views and be responsible for the overall output across our social platforms, from number of stories to tone.

You will manage a small team of editors and develop the social media strategy for our US titles. You will oversee traffic and revenue targets, engagement and retention rates, always looking for opportunities to grow.

You will review and assess social content performance regularly, constantly coming up with new and creative ways to get the most out of our platforms and grow our audiences.

You will keep up to date with all social media platforms and their changes, disseminating this knowledge to your team.

You will create workshops and train journalists on social media best practices.

Who are we looking for?

You are a social media expert with in-depth knowledge of all major platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, Snapchat and Reddit.

You have social video editing skills and a sharp eye for what makes for an engaging story.

You are a supporting people manager with excellent communication skills. You are able to create accurate and engaging content at pace, meet deadlines with ease. You keep your finger on the pulse of current affairs and know what is going viral across social platforms.
