Senior Occupational TherapistWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated Therapy Team at a Neurological Care Centre in Lancashire

About the role:
Your role will be to work within the level 2 neuro rehabilitation unit at the Neurological Care Centre as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing occupational therapy assessment, treatments and goal setting.
You will be working at a Neurological Care Centre in Lancashire, they provide the care people need to optimise their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence and support their emotional and social needs.
They provide specialist neurological care, rehabilitation and support tailored to the individual needs of people with a range of neurological conditions.
Scope of the job:
*To maintain up to date records in line with professional standards.
*To use evidence-based practice and specialist skill to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
*The role will be expected to work effectively with other team leaders, the therapy team, nursing teams and the wider MDT.
*To undertake comprehensive assessment of patients, using investigative and analytical skills to formulate individualised rehabilitation and treatment plans.
*To complete comprehensive assessment of new referrals, and support with discharges
*To demonstrate highly developed skills for assessment and manual treatment of patients.
*Utilise effective clinical reasoning skills and evidence based practice to develop individual specialist rehabilitation management care plans.
*To assess for and provide equipment to enhance independence in daily living skills for service users
*To monitor, review and continually re-assess clients rehab plans and objectives against outcomes measures in order to enable achievement of their goals.
*To carry out clinical risk assessment and complete risk management plans relevant to the clinical group
*Ensure the implementation of service policies and any service development changes.
*To provide specialist neurology advice, teaching and instruction to relatives, carers and other professionals to promote understanding of the aims of the therapy and to ensure a consistent approach to patient care.
Experience and skills required:
*Recent experience in a neurological rehabilitation service (essential)
*Degree in occupational therapy or equivalent qualification
*Registration with the health care professions council
*Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses/CPD
*Evidence of CPD
*Demonstrable experience of evidence based practice and outcome measures
*Experience working at band 6 level or above
*An ability to work autonomously and to set own and others' priorities
*An ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to therapist/therapy service performance
