Description
Organise and deliver a monthly clinical activity rota for the head and Neck team.

Circulate the rotas to switch boards across NGH and KGH sites, health rostering team and the general Head and Neck teams, the rotas are key to ensuring continuous activity.

The post holder will be responsible to ensure consultants always have assistance in theatres, will identify service gaps and plan/initiate acquisition of any locum doctors in a timely manner.

You will engage with provide cover for on calls and liaise with the HR team should Locum/ bank assistance be required.

You will work proactively to cover gaps.

The post holder will be the first port of call for any new member of the team, you will beresponsible for the induction, ensuring systems are set up and accessed, and name badges, swipe cards and car park passes are in situ.

The post holder will be responsible for the planning and delivering of local inductions for junior doctors on rotations by developing and presenting the on-call expectations, policies andprocedures at the Corporate Induction, working closely with the lead registrars.

You will alsomanage and record the mandatory training for the clinicians.


The post holder will update and maintain the e-rostering system for the recording and managementof sickness absence amongst junior doctors, as well as annual leave and study leave.

This includes accurate reporting to the Clinical Leads in order to comply with Sickness andAbsence procedures. The post holder will be responsible to input additional hours on to the Patchwork payment systemin a timely manner.

The post holder will support Better Care at Lower Cost through:

Ensuring compliance with monitor capped rates and framework agencies Producing analysis for bank, additional hours and agency usage and spend Work with Service teams to reduce agency spend.


The post holder will work with junior doctors, Consultant teams, and the Workforce Information Team to ensure that the rotas are compliant with the European Working Time Directive.

The post holder will be required to communicate effectively with junior medical staff across the directorates, as well as with managers, Consultants, Workforce Information and externalagencies and attend and participate in team and departmental meetings.

To prioritise own workload in a timely fashion.


The post holder will work with NHS Professionals (NHSP) and relevant department managers toensure European Working Time Directive is effectively monitored for all NHSP activity.

Provide effective input into the work of the Trust, to support the achievement of our vision and values.

The post holder will be valuable with the maintenance of patient pathways, they will be familiar with the elective process and understand the administration of validating patient records.

The post holder will be working closely with the management team to maintain activity levels and tosupport with investigations with patient enquiries.

To assist with general clerical duties; filing; photocopying and other duties as required. IdentifyImprovements in systems and processes and suggest changes to own work. Ensure confidentiality is maintained in all communications and that documents and othersensitive information is always secure.

To undertake training when required and to refresh or update on any new policies/procedures and ensuring full mandatory training requirements are met and up to date.
