- To undertake any secretarial tasks, appropriate to the band 3 post, as required by the consultants, manager and secretary team, working in a wider team to support POA.
- To act as a point of contact for all forms of communication between the consultant, patients, relatives, all hospital staff, general practitioners and their staff and outside agencies.
- Effectively deal with telephone calls from patients, relatives, staff and general practitioners and other individuals or organizations, taking messages, ensuring followup and resolving any problems as appropriate to band.
- Assist in the coordination of arrangements and documentation to ensure patients receive treatment at the right time, with test results made available to consultants and clinical team when necessary.
- Participate in meetings and take appropriate action in line with service provision as appropriate to band.
- Record and process all referrals on the appropriate IT system and undertake checks in line with service protocols and procedures.
- To open and prioritise all incoming mail and action accordingly.
- Typing of correspondence and other documents as required both audio typing and copy typing.
- To ensure all medical case notes are appropriately maintained in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
- Obtain patient's case notes and documentation as necessary.
Personal Attributes:
- 4 GCSE's at grade C or above to include English Language or equivalent qualification and one year's administrative/clerical experience.
OR
- NVQ Level II in Administration and one year of administrative/clerical experience.
OR
- A minimum of two years of administrative/clerical experience at Band 3 or equivalent.
- A minimum of one years of audio typing experience or other relevant experience to demonstrate keyboard proficiency.
- 6 months of experience of using Community Information System Paris.
Remuneration and conditions of assignment:
- £11.11 per hour.
- Belfast based (Knockbracken).
- Parttime, Temporaryongoing.
- Mon
- Fri, 25 hours per week.
