Description

Grow your career as a Project Management apprentice with the National Trust and gain experience delivering projects for the biggest conversation charity in Europe.


The programme is drawn from the Apprenticeship Standard Associate Project Manager level 4 but will be undertaken in 18 months including the End Point Assessment (EPA) period.


Throughout the apprenticeship you will attend monthly virtual tuition, along with coaching from our training partner and e-learning assignments that cover core aspects of project management such as leadership, communication, stakeholder management, planning and cost control.

The programme may lead to a Project or Programme Co-ordinator role upon completion.

Salary:
£26816 pa including Inner London weighting

We aim to work with others to address unequal access to nature, beauty and history, and to put inclusion and diversity at the heart of our programme.


You'll work within a team of project professionals on a range of projects aimed at developing urban green spaces for the benefit of people, nature and climate.

You'll help create and deliver a programme of cultural activities and events to activate green spaces in London.

You'll work with operational teams and consultants in London & the South East and from other parts of the organisation, as well as collaborating with organisations and people across the capital.


Within the National Trust we have a supportive and growing community of over 250 project and programme professionals - from apprentices to co-ordinators, officers, managers and senior manager roles - who collectively deliver an enormous amount of impact for the charity.

We look after thousands of houses and close to a million objects, along with vast areas of coastline, countryside and green spaces, for everyone's benefit.

  • What you'll be doing:You'll be working with your Trust Line Manager/ Mentor on tasks specific to your assigned project or projects, as part of the wider team.
  • Expect to be involved in tasks such as reviewing and updating the project plan, risk register or highlight reports; supporting with stakeholder engagement and workshops; helping communicate what's happening to people internally and externally; preparing information for project meetings; helping with practical delivery and supporting events and activities.
  • You'll attend, and prepare for, monthly review meetings with your Coach and be accountable for your progression against the Apprenticeship Standard.
  • You'll be required to complete and upload evidence to an eportfolio to document your progress.
  • You'll be required to complete mandatory elearning courses and will be given training to prepare for the Association for Project Management's (APM) Project Management Qualification (PMQ).
  • You'll be based at our Grosvenor Gardens office (nr London Victoria) with the flexibility to work remotely when needed.

The minimum standards required for this role are:

  • Team player with the ability to work independently but also as part of the project team
  • Keen to learn, committed to selfdevelopment and enthusiastic about acquiring new skills
  • Passionate about project management and interested in pursuing a career in the profession
  • Good attention to detail
  • 5 GCSEs at (including maths and English at C/4 or above) and 2 A levels, BTEC or equivalent level 3 qualification
