About Envestors
Envestors has a 15+ year history in helping early-stage business to get established and grow. To date, we have helped over 500 businesses and raised more than £100m in equity investment.


Since 2020, Envestors has been an Endorsing Body for the Home Office, as part of its visa schemes to attract innovative businesses to the UK.

Our role is to assess applicant founders against the scheme(s) criteria and then to monitor their progress over a multi-year period.


To help endorsed founders, we offer a suite of value-added services, giving them the best chance of successfully growing their business in the UK.

In April, 2023, the Home Office launched a new scheme called the Innovator Business Founder (IBF) Visa. This scheme enables entrepreneurs from around the world to start businesses in the UK. The scheme's criteria requires that these businesses are 'innovative, viable and scalable'.

The acceptance criteria is difficult to achieve; this means that businesses that are endorsed are of necessarily of high quality.

We estimate that we will endorse business per year.


Our Advisor-as-a-Service Offer
Envestors are launching an Advisor-as-a-Service offer. This offer will pair entrepreneurs with a business advisor who has deep experience in their sector/speciality.

Further, entrepreneurs will have the option of drawing on the wider pool of advisors when they have a specific functional need, for example fundraising, pricing or international expansion.

Typically, founders will be offered a one-hour online/telephone session with their core advisor per month. It is possible to increase the time when specific needs arise.

Envestors are now looking to build a pool of qualified advisors with the following experience/specialisation:


  • Finance: business modelling, financial analysis, sales forecasting and preparation for fundraising

Marketing & Sales: go-to-market-strategy, customer acquisition strategies, enterprise sales, proposition development and pricing

Operations: process design and optimisation, manufacturing, logistics, export

Technical: solution design, architecture, MVP development, product management, roadmap planning


Companies are sector-agnostic, however the innovation requirement of the scheme means there are more tech, deeptech and B2B businesses than B2C.


Therefore, we are also looking for specialists in:

  • Deeptech
  • Manufacturing/Engineering/Robotics
  • Fintech
  • Software/SaaS
  • Hardware/IOT
  • Marketplaces
You should have 10+ years' experience with a minimum of 5 years in a functional area or industry. Experience working in a high-growth business or advising high-growth businesses are preferred.

This is an associate, P/T role with no guarantee of minimum monthly hours.

Founders will select which advisor they would like to work with or we may recommend one based on experience/need match.


Role Description

  • To understand the specific requirements of the Innovator Business Founder Visa, the criteria for settlement and to help founders to prepare for annual review meetings and to achieve their targeted settlement criteria
  • To agree 6month goals with founders and to meet with them oneonone monthly to offer guidance, advice and feedback with the aim of helping them to achieve the goals
  • To proactively identify areas in which they need further support and to recommend courses of action, additional advisor time, a specialist advisor or service partner where relevant
  • To create an Advisor profile on Envestors Community platform and to engage with founders for the purposes of raising awareness of yourself and your expertise and in building trust within the community
  • To attend quarterly briefing sessions on Envestors offer, visa schemes and Envestors ecosystem partners so that you are best positioned to advise clients
  • To manage booking client sessions and to invoice Envestors monthly in arrears for time spent

Compensation:

This is an associate role with Envestors. Compensation is £120 per client hour.

This is based on the expectation that each advising hour includes 1/2 hour of additional time for booking and billing.
