Building Repair Solutions (BRS) Ltd is an expanding business providing building repairs to domestic properties in the Insurance market.With offices in Essex, the Midlands and Scotland the last few years have seen steady growth leading to us opening a newoffice covering London West.
We're looking for an experienced surveyor to assess and validate building claims to cover RG, GU, SL and KT postcodes.
Many of the claims that you visit will be handed over to the office team to manage the repair element to completion.
You will agree the most cost-effective repair methods for the job in question and anticipate any potential issues in-order that these are highlighted at the outset, keeping the Policyholders informed as to the insurer's stance and helping to manage theirexpectations.
You will preferably have experience of working in people's homes and be empathetic to their situation, whether a claim is covered under their policy or declined.
Experience
The ideal applicant will have a flexible approach to work and a background in the Buildings Insurance Industry, specifically the contractor management & building repair network side of the process and or Loss Adjusting.
A broad knowledge of domestic BuildingsInsurance policies is essential, as is a good technical knowledge of building & reinstatement practices, costing & scheduling procedures and the correct applicant will have extensive experience in carrying out site surveys.

Relevant experience within Insurance industry.
Main Job Responsibilities / Functions
- Attend site and carry out site survey, gather all necessary information on the Building and Contents loss, take samples and moisture readings.
- Evaluate information gathered from site survey and make a liability decision based on circumstances and policy cover.
- Prepare accurate reinstatement schedule in line with policy cover, along with any drying costs, and identify/discuss potential issues/conflicts with Policyholder at the outset, for Policyholder and repair contractor's benefit.
- Prepare report and submit to insurer.
- Handle any amendments to the original schedule if required, validating in line with policy cover and explaining increase in costs to Insurer.
- Assist other members of the office team as necessary and provide technical support to the claims handlers.
- Re attend site for meetings on larger/complex or customer driven claims, complaints & audits.
- Undertake other tasks as requested by company management.
Salary:
Negotiable depending on experience.
