At Velox we felt there was a gap to provide quality, bespoke care to Children's Residential Homes.

We offer dedicated and experienced staff who are able to provide additional support to the home and vulnerable children in their care.


Velox Care Solutions are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, experienced Support Workers to provide quality, care to CYP (Children and Young people) who require structured care and support.

We are committed to finding individuals who want to make a real difference to children's lives - people that are passionate, committed and invest in all that they do to achieve their potential and support others to do so.

You will be supporting our young people to progress positively through receiving encouragement, understanding, care and patience. You will be required to record daily logs and liaise with the staff from the residential home.

Our aim is to improve the lives of the children and young people we work with, and in turn have a positive effect on their wider relationships.


Duties:


  • Promote and actively encourage the delivery of a safe, structured and nurturing environment
  • Proactively engage with CYP who display challenging behaviour
  • Assist CYP to identify unsafe, dangerous, harmful and abusive situations, individuals and groups.
  • At all times ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of CYP.
  • Ensure a variety of intervention strategies are utilised in relation to behaviour management.
  • Keep open communication with other staff in the home to ensure you are proactively providing the support they and the CYP require.
  • Ensure that the child or young person is safe in terms of safeguarding protocols
In order to be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • 6 Months+ UK experience of working within a similar CYP setting
  • 2 x professional references
  • In date PMVA certificate (or willing to get one)
  • Enhanced Child DBS, subscribed to the update service (or willing to get one)
  • Relevant Qualifications (desirable) + Core Mandatory Training

As a CYP Support Worker working with Velox Care Solutions, you will have your own dedicated Consultant to guide you through every aspect of the compliance and shift booking process.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract


Salary:
£15.24-£20.40 per hour


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Taunton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Residential Childcare: 1 year (required)


Licence/Certification:

  • Level 3 NVQ (preferred)
