The Governors of Welshpool C.i.

W School are looking for a Family Support Co-ordinator who will:


Report to the Headteacher, and in liaison with teaching staff, play a leading role in the management of parental links throughout the school.


This includes responsibility for systems and procedures to engage and support families and learners in order to achieve improved learner well being, attendance and outcomes in line with the Welsh Government priority of reducing the impact of poverty on educational attainment.


Main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of learners and families that are difficult to engage
  • Managing key strategic support to learners on pastoral issues
  • Responsibility for coordinating strategic links between the school and other agencies and parents/carers
  • Responsibility for managing a programme of support to learners, teachers and the SLT to meet the strategic targets linked to reducing the impact of poverty on attainment
  • Providing attendance, behavioural and educational support to individual learners and their families
  • Producing and analysing key data from numerous sources to inform and advise senior leadership on strategic targets relating to learner welfare and the effect of deprivation on attainment
