We're currently worker alongside a Greater Manchester authority to add TWO social work assistants to their child protection service.This is an ideal role for a newly qualified social worker awaiting your SWE registration with an interest in a career in children's services.
The Role
You will facilitate, supervise, and observe contact including setting up contact arrangements and providing support and advice to children and parents where necessary.
They will contribute to the continuing assessment of children and families in need and at risk of harm as part of the Contact visit.
You will be responsible for providing information on and accurately record Contacts, as necessary.Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate a clear understanding of Child Protection procedures and principles and MCC social work procedures relating to court proceedings.
Contribute to the assessment of a child and family's needs using the recognised Assessment Framework.
Be accountable for dealing with all aspects of a Contact visit, including ensuring that Contacts take place to the agreed plan and working with the families to resolve any behavioural and emotional issues that may arise from Contact.
Applicant Requirements
Experience:
Good understanding of Child development & experience of working with children & their families.
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 Qualification
Compliance:
Up to date Enhanced DBS, Right to Work in the UK.
Travel:
Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
What we are looking for in a Qualified Social Worker:
- Social Work England registration
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Hold a full UK license.
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work

£17.00-£19.00 per hour
