Ancestry is the UK and Ireland's largest family history website with over 1 billion UK and Ireland genealogy records available to search.

An upcoming project includes the digitisation of collections held by Cheshire Archives. The first stage of this major project will be the digitisation of the original documents.

You will report to the Senior Imaging Manager for this on-site role at Cheshire Archives, Duke St, Chester CH1 1RL, United Kingdom.


What you will do

  • To operate and maintain the imaging equipment (training will be given)
  • Quality Assure resulting images
  • Carry out minor document prep as required (and permitted by the archive)

Who you are

  • You are willing to learn scanning techniques
  • You take pride in your work
  • You have initiative
  • You work well both independently and as a member of a team
  • You can work to strict deadlines
  • You have proven IT ability

Desirable but not essential

  • Previous experience of similar project work
  • General knowledge and appreciation of history/genealogy
  • General knowledge of photography

Contract:
Temporary (Project expected to last 12 months)


Rate:
£11/Hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week excluding meal breaks
