Hybrid Travel to Clearwater Court, Reading and Swindon Office

What you will be doing


The role is responsible for leading and participating in the development of software solutions across teams that deliver improvements to customer and agent experiences, as well as working with other delivery teams in the organisation to improve the quality and delivery of both code and working practices.

You will across multiple agile teams to ensure the rapid release of high-quality, fit for purpose products that add value to Thames Water's stakeholders.

  • Oversee and support delivery of highquality code to aid in the delivery of digital products across permanent and contracted teams
  • Provide technical leadership including mentoring and coaching within the team
  • Support standards and methods regarding technical decisions
  • Technical diligence on the analysis and design for projects
  • Ensuring the technology stack delivers the best performance, high availability and is fully secure
  • Advise Product Owners on technical stories and tasks to help them to prioritise
  • Own the technical risks and issues, identify and remove the technology constraints
  • Make appropriate commitments through estimation, story selection, task definition
  • Consistently deliver to challenging business objectives and adhere to Service Level Agreements and KPIs
  • Introduce and improve processes and tools to optimise software delivery
  • Collaborate across agile teams to ensure quality project/product execution and software development cycle

  • Commercial experience across a wide variety of software development techniques and strategies.
  • Proven experience in agile ways of working.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, Test Driven development (TDD), Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach that builds relationships across small, highlyskilled teams.
  • Support for big room planning activities, reporting and measurement.
  • Driving the onboarding and support for both contract and permanent team members.
