Enterprise Architect | £650 - £700 Outside IR35 | Initial 4 month contract

Your new company

An experienced Enterprise Architect is required to work through a consultancy services organisation to support their Higher Education end client to play a key role in developing and delivering business and IT strategy.

Your new role
You will work closely with key stakeholders across the University and influence them as part of strategically critical projects. You will develop IT Strategy and architecture roadmaps at enterprise level and of taking responsibility for developing enterprisestrategy and architecture blueprint to deliver strategic aims;

You will engage with senior academic stakeholders, scientific researchers and other business representatives; and be able to explain platform capabilities and solution options, understand requirements and translate these into proposals and business casesfor innovative IT solutions.
You will have a deep and broad technical understanding enabling you converse technically about infrastructure & technical architectures which meet the project requirements.
You will provide leadership to an architectural team working to achieve coherent end goals.
Working with project sponsors on the development of the business and technology roadmaps, you will take ownership of the development of the highlevel view of the "As-Is" and "To-Be" Business Case development of enterprise architecture, Business and ITRoadmaps.
You will lead on the development of the Enterprise Architecture standards, policies and guidelines to meet legal, regulatory and University needs.
You will provide leadership across organisations to support in the creation and development of an architecture community and embedding enterprise and solution architecture.

What you'll need to succeed

The role will suit someone with significant experience of working in similar roles within other Universities or other large complex environments.

Significant practical experience working as an Enterprise Architect in a University or other large enterprise with experience in platform and service delivery operating across a variety of IT delivery roles in large organisations;
Strong understanding of the endtoend delivery process from inception through to deployment and business change activities;
Prior experience of undertaking indepth analysis, facilitating and redesigning strategically critical business processes to develop effective solutions to complex problems;
Demonstrable experience in architecture definition and an understanding of architectural disciplines including experience in Technical Architecture; Applications/Solution Architecture; Information/Data Architecture; Business Architecture; Enterprise Architecturetechniques and frameworks; and specific knowledge in Enterprise Application Integration; Service Orientated Architecture; Business Process Modelling e.g. BPEL.
You will have a strong track in leading and managing staff and demonstrable experience in effective management skills including planning, organising and interpersonal skills and prior experience in confidently and accurately articulating potential changesto business processes to a range of stakeholders in a variety of formats;
Experience of leading other architects, organising their workload and overseeing the coherence, quality and consistency of the solution;
The ability to articulate your solution designs in readily comprehensible visual, textual and verbal formats tailored to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Understanding and experience of architecting solutions with Microsoft tools and platforms including:

Office 365/M365 (inc. Teams); Dynamics 365; Azure Cloud Services (inc. IaaS, PaaS and SaaS components); MS SQL Server (inc. Azure SQL PaaS services); C#/.NET framework; Power Platform and Power Automate; Azure DevOps.
