Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant with Accounts Payable and Receivable experience to join our fabulous finance team.

They will play a key role in helping to assist with the smooth running of the Finance function.


We're on the lookout for a team player and multi-tasking ninja, who loves nothing more than processing quickly & accurately, supporting and chasing colleagues to complete their finance tasks.


The Job
Responsible for the Accounts Payable function, including processing of Purchase Orders, Invoices, supplier payments, expenses and credit card expenses.

Reporting into the Finance Manager you will be a team player, assisting colleagues from time to time inprocessing sales invoices, payroll and credit control to cover for holidays, sickness and workload peaks.

You will be responsible for managing your workload, organising and prioritising work to meet financial deadlines.

On a day-to-day basis you will be involved in the following;

  • Checking and importing expenses & credit card expenditure from Spendesk into Xero accounting system
  • Processing and coding purchase invoices correctly, matching to PO and ensuring spend has been authorised
  • Performing bank reconciliations and investigating differences
  • Saving supplier invoices onto Xero
  • Preparing supplier payment run on a weekly basis
  • Liaising with suppliers, dealing promptly with enquires and reconciling supplier statements
  • Ensuring all supplier accounts are up to date and payments, direct debits and standing orders have been allocated correctly on Xero
  • Performing analysis on spend to control and minimise costs
  • Resolving customer & supplier queries in the accounts inbox
  • Covering for duties of other members of the finance team when on holiday or off sick in processing sales invoices, payroll and credit control
  • Ensuring a high level of accuracy whilst completing tasks.

The Person


The role requires someone with a calm, confident and assertive manner, who will hold colleagues to account when requesting receipts, invoices and purchase orders.

We're a busy and productive team, who support one and other, so it's important we find someonewho will take ownership of tasks, work proactively and has a real enthusiasm for improving processes.


We're looking for someone who will establish and maintain good working relationships with our suppliers, customers and our colleagues at all levels.

Someone who is able to reconcile complex accounts and has an excellent attention to detail.

You should be experienced in using accounting systems and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, teams and Adobe. Experience of time management software would also be a bonus.
