Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highways related schemes across the County, made up of 4300 miles of road, 151,000 street
- lights and 2955 bridges.


We have an excellent opportunity for a Technical Support Officer within the Countywide Services Support Team, supporting Operational staff, engineers, managers, and technicians.

You will provide clerical and administrative support for highway functions such as;

  • Investigating and identifying third party damages by interrogation of information held in various IT systems.
  • Creating letters and correspondence.
  • Dealing with queries, negotiations and cost related queries from loss adjusters and insurance companies.
  • Checking and monitoring of damage monthly payments, debt recovery and completing monthly reports.
  • Input of data into IT systems for job costing purposes into HAM's/PPMS/Oracle and working to month and year end deadlines.
  • Liaise & communicate with members of the public, customers and other LCC colleagues either face to face or via telephone in a prompt and courteous manner, to provide an efficient support service whilst recognising the diversity of the citizens of Lancashire.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Undertaking other duties as reasonably requested by the Highways Support Manager.

This position is full time for 37 hours per week.

The post is agile and will involve working either at home or in the various depots, covering reception duties on a rota basis one day per week.

The team's office base will be either Bamber Bridge or Whalley, but you may occasionally be required to travel to other depots within Lancashire.
