Our client is a Community Interest Company that works to support and improve the wellbeing of their shared communities through a range of context based psychological therapies, counselling and community based support services.

**Title: Social Hub Worker


Location:
Wolverhampton

**Hours: 22.5 hrs per week

**Salary: £19,000 per annum (pro-rata)


Contract:
Fixed Term Contract - September 2023 (Maternity Cover)

About The Role


The post holder will be part of the organisation's Social Hub team in Wolverhampton overseeing the Social Hub programme providing social, educational, creative and recreational activities for Social Hub members.

The Social Hub Worker will oversee and facilitateactivities for participants who have a range of emotional and social wellbeing needs in the community outreach venues.

The post holder will be responsible for the supporting and mentoring of volunteers.


The post requires a user-led, multi-disciplinary and collaborative working approach, creating close working relationships with partner organisations who refer into the project to ensure that participants needs are being met.


Job Role

  • To oversee a userled programme of group activities for The Social Hub members to participate in.

Activities facilitated will encompass, maintain and improve social, leisure, cultural, recreational, creative, communication, educational, and vocational skills,by creating and maintaining a safe, non-judgemental and inclusive environment.


  • To undertake coproduction plan development with all participants referred into the programme and implement them.
  • To encourage and enable participants to overcome the barriers they experience to social interaction and assist them in taking responsibility for their own social life.
  • To use social interaction as a way of helping people to maintain and improve their social, cultural, mental and physical health and wellbeing. To promote social interaction as a preventative measure against the stresses of everyday life.
  • To develop a therapeutic relationship which is conducive to the Hub members reaching their full potential within stated goals set out by them at their initial plan, which is then reviewed periodically.
  • To promote and signpost local organisations and services appropriate to the Hub members needs and interests.
  • To promote and encourage a healthy mental, physical, social, and culturally active lifestyle.
  • To use local facilities and amenities in order to provide a social programme to meet Hub members' needs.
  • To work as part of a team and in partnership with a wide variety of professionals, statutory agencies, charities and voluntary organisations.
  • Support the promotion and marketing of the "Social Hub".
  • To be involved in the marketing strategy and The Hub's marketing campaign and fundraising events. Help to produce relevant media material i.e. leaflets, posters and press releases as well as using word of mouth to spread the word about the benefits of usingand working with the Hub.
  • Assist the in measures to ensure continuous improvement of all peer and volunteer training activities, in line with the Quality Management System, QMS.
  • Support the Environmental Management System (EMS) by championing measures to reduce our carbon footprint.
  • Ensure client data is stored safely within the requirements of General Data Protection Act 2018 and be aware of and maintain the standards required within Information Governance.
  • Deal with referrals and be able to prioritise and coordinate own workload.
  • To oversee the organisation, planning and preparation of social/leisure activities for Hub members. This will involve action action plans, risk assessments and the possible purchasing of equipment and materials, once permission has been granted from theSocial Hub lead.
  • To introduce Hub members to relevant community resources, e.g. leisure and community centres, work opportunities, evening classes. Post holder needs to develop a local knowledge of what opportunities are available to our Hub members and signpost them accordingly.
  • Promote independence and social integration at all times.
  • To work in a nondiscriminatory, social inclusive manner, working with people rather than their labels.
  • Be willing to attend and participate fully in training, to continuously develop in the role.
  • To receive supervision and case management to maintain best practice.
