Access Control and Gate Automation Engineer

Hours:
7:00am ? 17:00pm (_12:00-13:00 Lunch break_)
Salary:
£20,000 - £60,000 (with opportunity for overtime work).
Holiday:
28 days including bank holidays.
The role:
Our client employs their own skilled engineers to install, repair and maintain automatic gates, barriers and access control.
The role would involve working with our Project Managers and other Engineers as part of a team that provides an industry leadingservice to our clients.
The Projects department is a fast moving environment so you will need the ability to work well within a team and as an individual.
Workingfrom construction drawings you will be responsible for installing a variety of security systems, carrying force testing and risk assessments once the work has been completed and ensuring that the relevant documentation is returned to the office in a timelymanner.
**The role would include, amongst other general tasks, the following: - **- _Installation and commissioning of gate automation_- _Force testing_
- _Carrying out Risk Assessments_
- _Installation of automated barriers_
- _Installation of Access control systems_
- _Associated welding works_
- _Maintenance of the above including carrying out service calls_
- _Reporting back to the contracts manager._
- _The applicant must have a full driving license_
- _The applicant must have previous experience installing gate automation, as well as servicing and fault finding on automation. Training can be provided for access control installations._
- _The applicant will need to have H&S training (this will be provided by Harling Security if needed)_
- _Various other roles and responsibilities._
Key requirements, experience and attributes
- Basic construction knowledge and understanding of site Health & Safety
- Valid CSCS and/or SKILLcard (If you do not have this you will be asked to complete and pass an external Health, Safety & Environment test with citb so that a card can be applied for).
- Previous knowledge of automation, electrics or access control works would be preferred
- Full & Valid UK Driving Licence and able to travel
- Able to work within construction site conditions
- Carry out force testing and risk assessments on completion of works
- Previous experience working in a similar role would be an advantage
- Carry out training as required including Toolbox Talks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Personable, presentable and articulate
- Reasonable IT skills and literacy
