Derby City Council are offering the opportunity to join our Procurement Service in a new role created to assist the team in delivering value for money for the people of Derby.


There are three posts on offer.
Post - to work with the Peoples Services support team

Post - to work with the Community Services support team

Post - to work with the Corporate Services support team

Supporting a Principal Procurement Officer, the role will include the following types of work:

  • Managing procurement processes in conjunction with Council directives in order to deliver compliant and effective outcomes for the Council.
  • Preparing, checking and proofreading tender documentation for consistency and accuracy.
  • Analysing and interpreting tender responses to inform the evaluation process.
  • Providing guidance and support to other Council departments responsible for undertaking devolved procurement activities.
  • Maintaining an accurate and up to date register of all live contracts in order to provide a source of information for Council officers and to comply with open data requirements.
  • Providing oversight and guidance to support the effective management of a range of contracts.
  • Collection and analysis of data to support procurement projects as they arise.
It is essential that you are qualified to A' level standard or equivalent.

The team operates a hybrid working model with attendance at the Council House, together with some home working
