We are looking to recruit a Safety Team Administrator to provide administrative and practical support in all areas of safety management to both colleagues in the safety team and across the wider business.


Responsibilities will include;

  • Input all relevant information relating to accidents, assaults and incidents into the Safety Management Information Systems (SMIS) used by CrossCountry Trains.
  • Act as the statutory reporting point for safety related incidents in CrossCountry Trains.
  • Oversee the administration of appropriate accident, assault and incident investigation. Storing reports, recording details linked these events as required by the business and chasing up where required reports have not been submitted by investigating managers.
  • Liaise with RSSB as necessary to ensure CrossCountry maximises the full potential of SMIS and attend SMIS user groups to support this activity.
  • Manage all SMIS alerts and address SMIS related issues identified by the RSSB.
  • Maintain appropriate statistical data to be used for incident trend analysis.
  • Close out all Safety Incident Reports (SIRs) when received from Fleet.
  • Close out all TPWS Activation incidents on SMIS when reported (SMSF052) received from DTM.
  • Send weekly and periodic accident and incident reports for CSMs, DTMs, H&S Reps and Fleet.
  • Act as the Safety Team Champion
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for Cannon House Health and Safety Notice Board.
  • Organise the annual Health & Safety Reps Conference.
  • Manage the distribution of all CrossCountry and other TOC cab passes.
  • Manage the administration of Badge Camera and CCTV requests.
  • Provide support with and complete Health and Safety audits, inspections and tours across the network as required
  • Oversee the management of Fire Risk Assessments across the business and provide the necessary data to support with these where required.
  • Coordinate and administer CrossCountry Trains Limited injuries claims management system.
  • Produce four weekly claims status report to include claims received in the period, total claims to date, claims closed in the period, trends in claims for employees, contractors and customers, the actual cost of claims settled in each period and an estimate of the costs for claims open.

Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Qualified SMIS operative, or working towards
  • Qualified Jaspersoft operative, or working towards
  • Knowledge of claims handling procedures
  • Knowledge of railway operations
  • IT literate
  • IOSH Managing Safely, or working towards
  • City in Guilds Assessor, or working towards
  • Lead Auditor Training or equivalent or working towards

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Management Systems to include Safety, Quality and Environmental.
  • NEBOSH Certificate or working towards
