This post is for a Senior Clinical Fellow who will be based at West Middlesex Emergency Department
(0.6 WTE) and are expected to provide clinical cover for the department which will be negotiated with the Rota coordinator.

The remaining time will be spent organising education for nurses, doctors and medical students. You will have the opportunity to arrange external courses and lead / supervise on academic projects related to EM.

There is an excellent opportunity for an Emergency Medicine doctor who is keen to gain training in simulation and obtain post graduate qualification in medical education.

This job is suitable for senior middle grade doctors and trainees who are motivated to broaden their experience and develop
subspecialty interest.

The main service commitments of Clinical Fellow will be, under the supervision of the Consultants, to supervise the FY2s, as well doing 'hands on' work alongside the other middle grades.

Teaching is of prime importance in the department and given a high priority. All trainees are supported and developed.

All Specialty Registrar level doctors attend a 2 day induction including the principles of resuscitation in trauma, paediatric emergencies and cardiac arrest.

There is continued teaching subsequently with emphasis on core competencies as applied to emergency medicine.

Audit and research projects are encouraged.

As a teaching fellow you will be encouraged to design and run in house teaching programmes for the different tiers of EM staff.

There is a continuous senior or middle grade presence for support and advice. There is on-call Consultant availability 24 hours a day
