IT Systems Administrator - London - circa £37,000 plus package - ASAP
A leading client of mine us currently on the hunt for an IT Systems Administrator to come and them join their team As the IT Systems Administrator you will provide IT support across all aspects of the business working closely with the IT Manager.
You willbe responsible for supporting and maintaining all internal business systems, customer cloud environments This opportunity will give you great exposure to a broad range of projects and activities.
Responsibilities:
- Follow written procedures to configure new systems, including both software and hardware setup and installation of telephone systems.
- Liaise with staff across multiple locations to assist with workstation configuration.
- Procure hardware (such as desktop PCs, laptops, servers, printers, and other network equipment) and software licences.
- Perform user administration across various systems, and other activities related to new joiners and leavers.
- Perform advanced configuration and diagnosis of issues with IP Office telephony system.
- Configure and maintain Titian IT Servers, including 1stline diagnosis.
- Perform administration of Oracle databases and diagnose issues.
- Create and organise Virtual Machines stored on Virtual Server / Hyper-V and diagnose issues.
- Write new documentation relating to internal IT procedures.
- Configure user VPN connections and diagnose issues with VPN connectivity.
- Monitor internet connection, monitor internet usage, and liaise with ISP to diagnose connectivity.
Experience:
- Experience in supporting a predominately Microsoft Windows environment.
- Proficient at using, and supporting, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote)
- Hands on knowledge of virtualisation (preferably Microsoft Hyper-V)
- Some exposure to relational databases (preferably Oracle)
- Solid understanding of network infrastructure (e.g., firewalls, routers and switches, VLANs, DNS, DHCP and VPNs)
- Willingness to be flexible (occasional IT infrastructure maintenance/changes requiring weekend work)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Keenness to learn new skills and technologies as required
Desirable:
- Knowledge of creating, supporting, and maintaining environments on Amazon Web Services
- Dell hardware
- Juniper networking
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business)
- Microsoft Team Foundation Server
- Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle XE, 11g SE and SE One administration
