Job summary:

The Integrated Corporate Services (ICS) is a new shared corporate service, launched in July 2023.

It will provide corporate services (HR, Finance, Digital, Commercial, Security and Estates) across the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) and the Department for Science, Innovation & Skills (DSIT).

The role and our team


Working in an environment where the provision of excellent internal services positively impacts the organisation's ability to deliver against its performance, we are pleased to offer an opportunity to experience working in a busy HR team that serves the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, through the Integrated Corporate Services function.


As an important member of the HR Team, the role of the Resourcing Adviser is to administer internal and external recruitment campaigns and provide advice and support to stakeholders, both internal and external, involved in the recruitment journey.


Key responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to stakeholders at all levels, in line with recruitment policies, ensuring that correct process is followed and the Civil Service Commission's Recruitment Principles are adhered to.
  • Progress recruitment campaigns to agreed service levels using the Civil Service Jobs erecruitment system.
  • Have involvement in preemployment checks in accordance with departmental and Civil Service requirements.
  • Produce various standard and adhoc reports on recruitment MI to meet the needs of senior stakeholders.
  • Deliver and maintain a high quality service to customers. Advise colleagues across the department regarding best practice and recruitment options to fill positions in their area.
  • Provide flexible support to the wider HR Team on projects and priority activities, and covering periods of annual leave.
  • You will be required to work closely with the Government Recruitment Service, adhering to its policies and principles.


Working as part of the team is very important and you will be expected to work with a significant degree of autonomy.


Person specification:


  • Good communicator (oral and written).
  • Strong IT skills (word and outlook essential, excel desirable).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills with ability to set own priorities, re prioritise and adapt as required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure at times.
  • Ability to work as part of team and on own initiative.
