  • Temporary contract, until 31 December 202

The Role Assistant Income Officer
Reporting to the Incomes Manager, you will support the income team in maximising rental income by negotiating and administering payments of rent, communicate with residents in order to notify of unpaid rent


This will involve:

  • Provide and process customer contact, negotiating acceptable payment arrangements and chasing failed payments residents in arrears
  • Signposting tenants to Money Advice, Income Officers, or specialist money advice agencies as appropriate to support the resident with rent arrears
  • Liaise with Local Authority Housing Benefit Departments and other outside agencies to support rental income
  • Assist the Income Manager with the production and distribution of rent account statements and annual rent increase letters
  • Assist with updating the Associations tenant profiling information to better delivery NWH servicesCoordinate the termination of tenancies by liaising with tenants, housing departments, DWP and local authorities.

Our Requirements Assistant Income Officer

  • Awareness of Housing Benefit, Welfare Benefit systems and processes
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for rental income
  • Have up to date knowledge of welfare reform
  • Excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic IT skills, including MS office packages.
  • Full UK drivers licence
  • Ability to work flexible hours if required
  • Comfortable with everyday conversations/discussion in Welsh (or a willingness to improve your Welsh language skills to the required level)
