Lead School Nurse - Harrow, Middlesex
Fixed term, Maternity cover. Salary is equivalent to RGN Band 6-7, pro rata
Average of 40 hours per week worked over 39 weeks a year (term time plus six additional weeks)

Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 15:30.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required from time to time

Our client is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world.

Approximately 840 boys study at the School and live in the School's 12 boarding houses. The Medical Centre team provides a full-time comprehensivehealthcare service for the pupils and employees of the School. The level of involvement for the latter is largely on an emergency basis. In addition to the Lead Nurse, the medical staff comprises five nurses, one school doctor and one sports doctor. The MedicalCentre is open 24/7 with one nurse/paramedic being on duty overnight.

The role:
The Lead Nurse is a pivotal and valued role within the team.

Alongside the Practice Manager and the School Doctor, the Lead Nurse is responsible for ensuring that the Medical Centre delivers high quality and comprehensive health care services to theSchool and responds appropriately to medical queries or situations as they arise.

The Lead Nurse will lead, manage and motivate members of the nursing team, whilst promoting a caring, confidential and inclusive approach across the community.


The skills:

This role is a great opportunity if you are NMC registered with significant post-registration experience, and recent line management experience.

You will have previous experience in either practice nursing or school nursing and health education,excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to the physical and mental health of young people.
