Description
We are a recruitment agency acting on the behalf of a successful volunteer-led, family focused charity, based in Portsmouth.

They are committed to making a profound difference in the lives of thousands of local families and their mission is to ensure children get the best start in life.

They understand that parenting can be challenging and work alongside parents to provide an essential network, practical skills and support both in family homes and out in the community.

Having recently won a bid with Portsmouth City Council, they are able to extend their services and are creating a new team to support them in doing so.

We are looking for 5 Family Hub Champions.

Reporting into the Head of Family Hub Services, this highly rewarding new role sits at the heart of the Charity's service delivery.

Four of the roles will be based in one of Portsmouth's Family Hubs situated in various locations around the city, and one is a remote role that supports an existing virtual platform and will be offering parents support remotely and/or virtually.

The purpose of the role is to demonstrate commitment to Portsmouth families by offering a single point of contact for parents.

This requires you to first listen, then identify support needed and signpost to enable parents to access the support they need to give their children the best start in life.

You will collaborate with our multi-agency Family Hub team, working closely with midwives, health visitors, and other voluntary and community sector groups, having each family's best interests front and centre of everything you do for them.

You will be responsible for a 'triage' process covering areas such as perinatal mental health and infant feeding alongside parenting courses, facilitated groups and workshops.

For many of the families you support, you will be able to use your empathy, skills and experience to help them directly with advice or you may be delivering workshops on parenting or in some cases you may be working with line management to escalate a problem.

By joining the dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the betterment of families in the local community.

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • Experienced in a family support role/environment.
  • Be a selfstarter and be able to perform onsite management as well as performing in a remote team.
  • Be a kind, caring and empathetic individual who can build relationships both with the families that require the charities support, but also with other organisations sharing the same space.
  • Understand the issues facing parents in challenging times, as well as knowledge of parent and child development.
  • Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting child welfare in all aspects of the family hub operations and you will ensure effective safeguarding policy and procedures are adhered to.
  • Have strong administration skills and be competent in time management and report writing.

If you would like to be a part of a exceptional team, who work with passion to drive positive change and make a difference, please apply.
