Job Overview:


As Design Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the design process, collaborating closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and design professionals.


You will help manage the flow of design information, ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards, and contribute to the overall success of our construction and facilities management projects.


Responsibilities:


Design coordination:

Coordinate and facilitate the design process from concept development to project completion, ensuring timely delivery of design deliverables.


Collaboration:


Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to gather design requirements, provide necessary design documentation, and ensure seamless communication between stakeholders.


Document control:

Maintain and organise design documents, drawings, and specifications, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is accessible to the project team.


Design review:


Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the design team, ensuring compliance with project objectives, budget, codes, and standards.


Quality assurance:

Perform quality checks on design deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry best practices and company standards.


Design documentation:

Prepare and maintain project-specific design guidelines, standards, and templates to streamline the design process and ensure consistency across projects.


Regulatory compliance:

Stay updated on relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards, and ensure design compliance throughout the project lifecycle.


Design issue resolution:


Identify design-related issues or conflicts and work collaboratively with the project team to find effective solutions, minimising potential impact on project timelines and budget.


Communication:


Act as a liaison between the design team, project team, and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication, and ensuring alignment on design-related matters.


Continuous improvement:


Contribute to the improvement of design coordination processes, tools, and workflows, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and enhanced project outcomes.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Design Coordinator or similar role in the construction or facilities management industry
  • Proficiency in design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles, construction methods, and building systems
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy in design coordination and documentation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • Familiarity with document control systems and project management software is advantageous
  • Problemsolving skills and the ability to proactively identify and address designrelated challenges
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements

£44,000.00-£46,000.00 per year
