Financial Controller - Private Equity


Based:
Manchester area


Salary:
circa £75k-£85k dependent on experience including bonus + benefits

I am partnering with a PE backed, award winning and global leading business based in Manchester.

An exciting company offering great progression, PE exposure and the chance to work with an impressive FD, we are looking for a strong Financial Controller withproven management experience to lead the team and work with the FD in a broader business capacity.

The business will be looking to exit the PE house in the next 2-3 years so a great opportunity to gain exposure to that process.

Role:

  • Managing the group finance function with 3 direct reports and indirect team of
  • Group month end holding review meetings with finance prior to CFO review including review of EBITDA, Balance Sheet and cash flow forecast
  • Leading monthly review meeting with the CFO presenting financial performance of the business
  • Group budgeting and forecasting leading the team to produce rolling 3 month EBITDA forecast on a weekly basis ensuring EBITDA, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts are updated based on business assumptions and reporting for the board pack
  • Liaising with FP&A to ensure financial model is suitable for business and adapting to changes
  • Leading and managing group audit process, being senior POC for year end auditors, ensuring year end accounts for all entities are signed in line with the deadline
  • Cash management detailed daily cash flow forecast across UK and group businesses
  • Managing banking platform and assisting CFO with banking relationships
  • Group compliance ensuring all UK tax reporting is accurate and submitted
  • Assisting CFO in PE projects spanning the next 1218 months alongside designing and implementing internal controls
  • Constantly reviewing & analysing systems and processes to understand where efficiency gains could be made implementing and adapting to change
  • Ensuring intercompany accounting is accurate and reconciled monthly
  • Producing value added analysis and commentary to the FD and leading on adhoc projects

Experience:


  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified essential with post qualified experience
  • Proven leader, experience of managing and leading a team in finance
  • Strong commercial & financial understanding from within an SME environment
  • Involvement within a Private Equity backed business would be desirable
  • Audit trained ACA/ACCA qualified desirable
  • Strong organisational and time management experience is essential
