Introduction:


This role will provide direct supervision and oversight of the Avionic/Electrical Aircraft Technicians (including contracted staff), to carry out Aircraft or Component Maintenance, Repairs and Modification work to the CH-47 Chinook aircraft.

Reporting and accountable to the aircraft Task Lead.


Responsibilities:


  • Support the Aircraft Task Lead in meeting the operational requirements.
  • Supervision and coordination of both Scheduled and Unscheduled tasks into the aircraft schedule.
  • Timely escalation of emerging risks/issues impacting the progression of the work package.
  • Ensuring they and their team/s adhere to national and local Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ensure that their team works within the limitations of their authorisations and to all necessary BDUK Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensuring that emerging work is correctly captured as Over and Above.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) workshops as a Subject Matter Expert when required, working to remove inefficiencies and identify opportunities or areas for improvement.
  • Wellbeing of the personnel/team with due consideration to Human Factors implications.
  • Adopt a collaborative approach to their work and ensure a collaborative approach is adopted by all staff within their team.
  • Ensure training gaps within their teams are identified and skill levels are maintained

Duties include:


  • The direct supervision and/or conduct of Maintenance, Modification and Repair tasks on the Chinook aircraft in accordance with the work instruction
  • Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Publications (MRP) and the BDUK Operations Manual.
  • Ensuring that all associated paperwork for work completed by their team/s has been completed to the required standard, within the aircraft/component work pack or F700 series, as applicable.
  • To control and sequence the workload, based on emerging requirements, to prevent conflict of work streams and maintain the overall flow of work to the planned schedule, within their area.
  • Ensuring schedule milestones and on time completion of work is achieved, or impacts/issues are identified and escalated to the Task Lead, Operations Management.
  • Exercising Supervisory and maintenance responsibilities in accordance with issued Authorisations.
  • Exercising personal responsibility for safety, quality, integrity, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention and tool control/accountability.

Work Authorisation:

Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.


Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance (SC) for which UK residency is required. All information will be checked and verified.


Required Experience / Qualifications:


  • Experience supervising a team of aircraft Technicians
  • Crossfunctional collaborative working
  • CH47 Chinook Type Course desirable
  • Computer literate i.e. MS Office

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in a UK military air environment (MAE)
  • A technical or vocational qualification in Aerospace Maintenance/Aerospace Engineering
