The Role


As a Software Tester, you will focus on ensuring the stability of the build through a methodological approach to bug reporting and regression testing; while working alongside the development team to test new features as they are implemented.


This role is part of the QA Embedded team, where you will be working with a multidisciplinary team and focusing on specific features.

As part of your day-to-day tasks, you will need to create new test cases following the guidance of the QA Lead, report all the issues found, and perform regression testing tasks to ensure that the game is working as intended.


You will be joining during an exciting period of growth at Splash Damage and as part of our QA team, you will work with the dev team to test new features as they are implemented, create test cases for manual execution and methodically recreate bugs providing information to the dev team to assist with fixing problems.


Responsibilities

  • Organise, author, and run daily test cases as required, track and update test suites, making iterative improvements where needed.
  • Find and report issues in a clear and accurate manner via our bugtracking database, set values that reduce time to understand, and prioritise issues in bug triages.
  • Creation and maintenance of documentation to ensure best testing practices are in place.
  • Report the test results accurately and provide recommendations that drive pertinent improvements to the product.
  • Perform regression testing and verify fixes have been implemented as intended without knockons.
  • Able to be autonomous, solving the right issues such as responding to blocking issues or providing updates about status and progress when needed.
  • Be a voice for iterative improvements that contribute towards to overall understanding of game area health.
  • Task, mentor, and guide others, setting out and demonstrating excellent test practices.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • At least one AAA title supported in full from concept to released product
  • Some demonstrable leadership or line management experience
  • Familiar with Test Case management and developer workflow systems such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Good communication and writing skills.
  • Appreciation for data and tech
