About the role


You will be Teaching Secondary aged students within this wonderful mixed gender mainstream secondary school's specialist Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) for students with Autism and Social Communication or Speech and Language Difficulties.

Due totheir needs, students learn below their typical Key Stage average so the successful teacher should be experienced and able to adapt lessons to student's abilities.

You will be ably supported by 2 learning support assistants in the classroom as well as havingsupport from Occupational and Speech and Language Therapists.

This role will be full-time Monday

  • Friday 8.30am3.30pm during term times. This role is for Fully Qualified Teachers (holding UK QTS or have their NARIC), who have UK based experience teachingstudents at secondary age with Autism or other SEN needs. Only those with fulltime availability, right to work in the UK and the appropriate UK qualifications will be considered for this role.

About the school
This wonderful mainstream secondary school based in Kensington and Chelsea has an excellent Centre for Autism onsite. The mainstream specialist provision is for students who have a specific diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder/Condition (ASD/C).

The purposeof the provision is to enable students with ASD who are attached to the Centre to benefit from the broad range of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities.

The Centre aims to encourage students to participate, progress and achieve both alongside theirpeers in mainstream lessons and in any targeted interventions in the Centre.

The Autism Centre facility provides an additional source of expertise and support for all students who have a diagnosis of ASC, other Social Communication or Speech and Language difficulties.
