Fishermead Centre is a residential Lifehouse accommodating 20 homeless vulnerable single adults, offering support to find move on accommodation and assistance to engage in support services locally.


Key Responsibilities:

The role of
Assistant Support Worker is an inspirational one and key to achieving successful outcomes for clients.


You will be responsible for assisting with delivering a high-quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control, ultimately empowering the clients to lead more sustainable lifestyles.


You will use your initiative to complete day to day activities with the clients and support them to make positive life choices, support the running of the service's meaningful activities programme, assist the support workers as needed, and carry out some front of house duties to support the successful operation of the service.


  • Knowledge of legislation relating to health & safety and safeguarding of service users and staff
  • Experience of managing a front office environment
  • Good record keeping and data management skills
  • A positive attitude and motivation towards supporting vulnerable clients
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including a range of IT packages
  • Good team working skills
  • Ability to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army.
