POST:
Weighbridge Operator


RESPONSIBLE TO:
Operations Engineer


JOB PURPOSE:
To facilitate the delivery of municipal waste in a timely manner whilst adhering to the site rules


  • The day to day running of the weighbridge and recording information into Weightron.
  • Management of vehicles onsite and the turnaround times of waste deliveries.
  • Accurately and in a timely manner record weights & waste type by vehicle, completing appropriate documentation and collecting driver signatures if required.
  • Process collection and delivery notes and tickets electronically in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • To immediately report any contamination or non-conforming wastes delivered to site to the appropriate Manager as well as any health and safety issues.
  • Report any anomalies/errors with either the weighbridge system or the in-house operating system to the appropriate people immediately to minimise downtime or disruption.
  • Carrying out driver inductions, ensuring all customers are aware of site rules and efficiently distribute information and guidance.
  • Maintain clean working conditions in the Weighbridge.
  • Dealing with Staff, visitors, contractors and public in a polite manner.
  • Maintaining site security.
  • Completion of weekly and monthly excel weighbridge reports
  • Additional Admin duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures
  • IT literate with the ability to work on excel spread sheets
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills and able to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of the Waste & Recycling Industry would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given

Primary Role:

To facilitate the delivery of municipal waste and the processing and disposal of Incinerated Bottom Ash (IBA). The OMA's will also be required to assist the operations and maintenance department.


Key Responsibilities:


  • The day to day running of the weighbridge and recording information into Weightron.
  • Management of vehicles onsite and the turnaround times of waste deliveries.
  • Vehicle marshalling/controlling the tipping hall operation. Working in line with our traffic management system.
  • Management and removal of the IBA/Operation of the IBA processing Hall
  • Accepting the delivery/collection of chemicals, consumables and stores.
  • Prestart checks and Operation of mobile plant including Front loader, Telehandler and FLT etc.
  • Carrying out waste inspections and reporting of None Conforming Waste.
  • Maintain clean working conditions in the Fuel reception area, tipping hall and the delivery routes.
  • Carrying out driver inductions.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment including the reporting of accidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences and defects.
  • Enforcing the site rules and challenging unsafe working practices.
  • Dealing with Staff, visitors, contractors and public in a polite manner.
  • Maintaining site security.

From £25,000.00 per year
