We at ASQ Education are looking to recruit up to three Teaching Assistants to support the exceptional SEND Department within a highly supportive secondary school In the Sublime County of Surrey.

You could be an experienced TA or just starting out as a recentgraduate; if you hold a degree and understand what it takes to support SEND pupils, this could be the role for you.


Preferably, the school are looking for someone with prior experience working as part of a team in translation, schools, colleges, HEIs or a relevant SEND or MFL department.

The school are also keen on graduates who aim to become teachers in the future.


The Role


In the role of an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to support the Key Students who may not be fluent in English, or it is not their first language.

The pupil requires extra support to understand and communicate.

Under the direction of the SENCo,the school is keen to include additional support for their non-English speaking students and allow them to flourish in school and accelerate their understanding of the English language.

You will be required to support both the teaching and support staff effectively within the school.

As well as cooperating with parents or carers, students, and external agencies and ensuring safeguarding laws are always adhered to.

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Must be fluent in English and another additional language (Essential)
  • Experience in working with children in the SEND Department (Desirable)
  • Capacity to form honest working relationships with students, parents or carers and colleagues alike
  • Great oral and written communicative skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills as well as the ability to work under pressure
  • To act proactively and show initiative when engaging with pupils & tasks
  • To be adaptable and flexible in the work you do and show that you can use your initiative
  • To understand that you must be a good role model for students and colleagues alike
  • Secondary school with outstanding professional development for graduates
