Reporting to the Head of Data Architecture and Modelling within the Chief Technology Office, this is a role for an experienced Data Modeller.


Designing data models for regulatory projects including Consumer Duty, aligned to an industry standard, these Data Models will be needed both in a logical model and a physical model form, using the approved tool from IBM - Infosphere Data Architect (IDA).

This will, in turn, support the creation and fulfilment of appropriate metadata management and a robust metamodel. Data model creation will be based on Business Requirements but also considerate of constraints within our data landscape.

Some pragmatism is required to ensure delivery dates are met, but influencing skills also required to ensure a quality data model is produced.

  • Creating complete, good quality data models to inform users and developers alike
  • Following Data Modelling standards and recommended tools to complete data models
  • Providing close connection with the project team to ensure a data centric solution
  • Solving data problems using a model driven approach

What you'll bring.

  • Demonstrable experience of physical and logical data modelling.
  • Experience in at least one data modelling tool e.g. IDA, Erwin, PowerDesigner, E/R Studio, Sparx

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Extensive experience of data management and ability to see through large data sets to draw out the essential components.
  • Sound data management skills including abstraction and distillation of data using data modelling principles bottom up as well as top down.
  • Familiarity with group IBM data management tools.
  • Good communication skills and experience of liaising with business stakeholders to understand their requirements

What else you need to know.


This is a full-time Fixed Term Contract for 1 year and 2 years in a team which is currently based in Milton Keynes.


It will be a hybrid working role between office and home - time in the office to be agreed with your manager.
