Description

Working with one of the UK's leading automotive manufacturers, this is an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Emissions & EV Range Test Development Technician to work on a variety of prototype vehicles including Electric/Hybrid and Autonomous Vehicle projects.

You will be responsible for Vehicle Exhaust Emission & EV Range testing in order to meet current and future Legislative requirements.


  • Job Duration 12 months rolling contract
  • Mon-Thurs 8am5pm, Fri 8am1.20pm
  • Pay rate of £16.33/hr and £2.45/hr holiday accrual (£18.78/hr Gross Pay)
  • Basic salary equivalent £33,100 plus 26 days holiday (+ 8 BH)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Real Drive Emissions onroad testing
  • Vehicle Chassis Dynamometer operation
  • Drive Emissions test cycles to Directive & Homologation Standard
  • Emissions analysis measurement
  • Fundamental understanding of vehicle disassembly, assembly, & maintenance techniques
  • Vehicle system knowledge with the ability to fault find
  • Understanding of component measurement techniques
  • Instrumentation setup
  • Understanding of vehicle diagnostic tools
  • Data acquisition & data collation
  • Facility & instrumentation calibration.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements:

  • C&G / BTEC L3 would be preferable, ideally in mechanical, Electrical or automotive engineering with a recognised apprenticeship or qualification within a relevant field
  • Fully proficient in the fundamental practical mechanical / Electrical skills
  • Ability to work safely and to comply with legal and company safety policies
  • A good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Be able to work independently to manage and prioritise their own and workload
