Assistant Technical Officer - Band 2

Pharmacy - University Hospital Wishaw

37.5 hours - Permanent


You will assist with the provision of the pharmacy service by participating in the accurate and safe assembly of medicines to be dispensed and the accurate and safe receipt, storage, distribution and delivery of medicines along with the production, monitoring and filing of documentation and a ward stock management service.


You will require to have a Scottish Vocational Qualification Pharmacy Services Level II or working towards or equivalent experience or Postholders with no previous experience will be treated in accordance with Annex 21 Arrangements for Pay and Banding of Trainees.

Initial induction period of up to 3 months, followed by a period of training and consolidation to achieve full competency within 12 months following induction.

Be capable of understanding and working within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and have a commitment to CPD / Self-motivation/


Ability to work unsupervised and able to plan, prioritise and organise workload and to work under pressure is essential to the role as is the ability to take direction, and work under their own initiative and as part of a team.


You must have good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills along with a willingness to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department.
