An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Social Work Education Team as a Professional Education Consultant on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Social Work Education Team is at the forefront of new developments and pathways for professional development, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and diligent social work Practice Educator who can bring focus, ideas, and energy to our work with our colleagues.


This post provides an opportunity to really influence and shape the development of social work practice including the next generation of social workers.


The team delivers a wide range of Continual Professional Development programmes to students, apprentices, newly qualified social workers (NQSWs), social workers in their second year of practice, and experienced practitioners including practice educators.

This fixed term contract will primarily be in supporting and coordinating NQSWs and Year 2 Social Workers, although there will be opportunities to support the delivery of the Practice Education Traineeship (PET), a 2-year programme for experienced practitioners seeking to become practice educators.

You will also have opportunities to be a Practice Educator to students.

You will be;

  • A Qualified Professional Educator
  • An experienced Social Worker
  • Knowledgeable of the role and remit of Social Workers in Adult Social Care
Interviews will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday 5 June/ morning of Wednesday 12th June 2024


Please note:

If selected for interview you will be required to deliver a 10-minute presentation on any non-work-related topic of your choice.

Your will be assessed on your ability to deliver an engaging and informative presentation.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
